KEF 104 grill shape

I recently acquired a pair of kef 104aB. The model had foamgrills that are no longer available as they have all crumbled to dust since the 70s. I have some generic foam coming, but it looks like just attaching it to the existing velcro hook won't work be cause the woofer surrounds protrude from their baskets. Does anyone remember how the grills worked on these? Thanks!

I would use something non reflective for the standoff like thick/dense felt, or perhaps cover a more solid frame with wool felt.

Great idea. A felt offset or a wrap. I've been wondering about the foam staying flat, so a frame with wrap might work perfectly. Thank you!

Wow, they look like new.

I purchased thick wool felt from this company 20+ years ago and they still seem to have various versions it in stock.

Scroll way down to find the "strips" which would require minimal cutting.

Thank you, @dekay . I get the foam in this week and will see if it's structured enough without a frame. If so, this felt would be a great solution. The cloth solution might ultimately be best for not protruding too much past the front of the cabinet bevel.
