KEF 102 COMBINED

I have two pair of KEF 102s, one is older with a replaced midrange which I dont use. I need more bass and have been considering a subwoofer. Fooling around I hooked up the spare pair via a jumper and placed them on the floor directly below the main pair. I also disconnected the tweeter. I know this is not technically a sub as there is no crossover, etc but it did add substantial bass though it seemed a bit thick. For the hell of it I placed the second pair on top of the mains ( therefore having a mid, tweeter, mid stacking arrangement. I actually like the result but am wondering if I am violating some acoustic/electronic law and if so what can be done to make it right as I sort of like the sound.
