I admire you all with your creativity protecting your speakers whilst loving the children and cats. My story is one of my love of both cats and speakers. I own a pair monster speakers Technics (Matsushita) built. Cost no object only 40 pairs ever built. We got a stray female kitten many years ago and that beast climbed those speakers like they were trees! The funny part was she'd only do it when I returned from work to get my attention! Oh, I wanted to choke her sometimes. However, among the several great loves of life that I've been blessed with, felines are absolutely one of them. My gear will always have to co-exist.
just wanted to share my fix for making my speakers cat and grand kid proof!
you can get black chicken wire ( and other colors ) fr hardware store and easily make theses and prob do a better job than i did it is virtually acousticly transparent. this really works and we love our 15 cats all recues , mostly tamed formerly ferals
ferals are best pets ! smart , strong like to play . loyal , will bond amazingly well
