JBL Soundbar 1000 woofer

Does anyone have any suggestions to replace the 10 inch driver in my JBL Soundbar 1000? Parts Exspress wants to know specific information like the interior dimensions, OHMs. I am in a nursing home and have not found any info about the driver.

How have we determined that it’s the speaker and not the amplifier plate?

I’m just gonna guess here but you’re going to be throwing good money at something that really can’t be fixed. These types of products tend to not have aftermarket parts available for them. If you can contact the manufacturer and they can send you out a subwoofer then you might be in business. You would think you could get some action on a $1200 product but that’s the way they do business today.

I have had plenty of experience with subs going back almost 40 years. There is no real problem with the sub, it distorts at higher volume level. I asked JBL if I could substitute the whole of the next up in the line that has a 12 inch sub. They gave an answer that sounds like they did not know what would happen. I should have brought the top of line BAR 1300.  I am sure I could replace the built in 10 inch driver with a better quality driver than the stock one.

Sound bars are for girlfriends. Buck up and get a pair of speakers and a subwoofer and do it right.

No can do. do not have the space or the money to set up a surround set up. I am in a Nursing Home, my LG tv and JBL BAR1000 ix opposite the wall in front of my bed. It sounds pretty good for what it is, in my small room. I can take off the end speakers from soundbar for wireless surround and have them by my bed for about 12 hours. I am bedbiund so I need someone to pull off the speakers then put them back later. I do have a computer sound system a BIC America 12 inch sub next to my bed that will shake the room and piss off the neighbors behind my bed. So I am the PITA!
