What that "why thank me" was for? It was a simple thank for provided link. I will watch it afterwards. I wrote the last post from my own point of view on which I have right to. Or should I simply just quote Tarkovsky what, let’s say, you would do? :p

Jazz for aficionados
I'm going to review records in my collection, and you'll be able to decide if they're worthy of your collection. These records are what I consider "must haves" for any jazz aficionado, and would be found in their collections. I wont review any record that's not on CD, nor will I review any record if the CD is markedly inferior. Fortunately, I only found 1 case where the CD was markedly inferior to the record.
Our first album is "Moanin" by Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers. We have Lee Morgan , trumpet; Benney Golson, tenor sax; Bobby Timmons, piano; Jymie merrit, bass; Art Blakey, drums.
The title tune "Moanin" is by Bobby Timmons, it conveys the emotion of the title like no other tune I've ever heard, even better than any words could ever convey. This music pictures a person whose down to his last nickel, and all he can do is "moan".
"Along Came Betty" is a tune by Benny Golson, it reminds me of a Betty I once knew. She was gorgeous with a jazzy personality, and she moved smooth and easy, just like this tune. Somebody find me a time machine! Maybe you knew a Betty.
While the rest of the music is just fine, those are my favorite tunes. Why don't you share your, "must have" jazz albums with us.
Enjoy the music.

But that is what I did, wrote from my own little experience. I mean, you already saw the videos that I partly made (referring here to the work behind scene). It might not be big deal but software that is normally used in today’s movie making is used there. A lot of hard and interesting work. Are you maybe jealous? Thinking who is she to talk like that? Smile. Well nobody prevents you from learning the material on-line. Some fine software is there and available for free. Good cameras are also within the reach unlike before. All in all you need quite modest budget to record short clips for instance. But you will need a will to do it, imagination and time of course...and I think I know what you will say now (I hear you) - if I can’t do the work like the great one does, better not to do it. But I disagree with you here. No matter what, you have to dare. That’s the first condition. Make your own shi*, damn it. And be proud of it. ’Cause it’s YOURS. Remember the song? Of course you do... https://youtu.be/uAOR6ib95kQ |
I can’t imagine anyone is monitoring all the posts on all Forum sites!I ask myself the same. Informers ok, but who really wants to bother with that? That’s right. Besides the moderators, only the poster can delete his/her post up to a half hour or so after posting. After that, only the moderators can.I think that you can edit the post within 30 min but afterwards you can delete it whenever you like it. Wait, I'll try... |
Those are great clips O-10. Dear guys, I hope you had nice New Year welcome and that you have gained at least + 2kg, looking even more beautiful than before. I know that I do. In one of my old posts, I have longed for longer holidays but I think this would be it. I do not know how weather is there at your place, but no snow here and it is unusually warm. We enjoy in the sun during the day and how things are rolling, in few years we might even start growing bananas... Oscar again but another one... https://youtu.be/tCrrZ1NnCuM Akira (that’s Alex), I watched that Tarkovsky clip. Enjoyed a lot and was, have to admit, disappointed that I was understood in a way you understood me in my postings. My point was not that I thought that a movie should have been made in a way a viewer wanted or in a way just to "please" the viewer. Absolutely not, because that would be in the contradiction of what I have previously said - make your own work, be original. And when I said that all was about selling the magic, I obviously did not mean about selling the movie in a way one makes a commercial movie, just to please the viewer. If a director sells a story good, that means that he or she managed to get to the viewer in various ways. When getting to the viewer, I guess that is the point where communication begins and the condition of art fulfilles. Happy New Year to all. <3 I am retreating now to the safe distance and from the public...a woman's got to do what a woman's got to do. :))) |
mary_jo, I hope you are reading this and still with us.pryso, just because I am in silenzio stampa mode that does not mean that I cannot, now and then check up on (by taking look at the thread) how you are guys doing. I really appreciate all of you. And thank you for your recommendation. I will make sure to watch it on the first occasion. |
Mary_jo You know how I feel about Jeff Beck. Other then Jimi Hendrix he is the most creative and diverse to ever strap on a guitar.I do know pjw. Thanks for that. |
Saturday. The most stressful day in week due to work. That is why I talk today more than usual so you will have to put up with me. But from what I can see, it's even harder for them: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fstfsAtR6wE |
It’s 33 past midnight here, so no Sunday. :--) It is kind of late to sit on the porch so I am logically in my bed with the headphones. Will now listen, logically again, Thurman and Lundy. Curious to hear what all the fuss is about. In the meantime, something from Croatia. Josipa Lisac. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rOMRRDodc6s https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J-t0tw-NHSQ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O0OlWJsPseI#searching https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I9obNyXn_-g https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RWC0IXOMopA |
I liked 'O Jednoj Mladosti', 'People', and 'Tebi Putujem' the best. I didn't get the wig and costume on Tebi.Josipa is pop - rock singer with occasional flirting with funk and jazz. One will not "cut wrists" over her singing but she has unique singing style which is why I have posted her. When I hear her voice I can tell she is Josipa, that was my point, her originality. I do not want to hear nor Billie, nor Ella, nor Julie, etc., etc., in anybody's voice. |
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s9PQ7qPkluM What level of life experience she has? None, I guess. But she still can sing. How come? I feel honesty in her voice. Not many women - singer to be, I dare to say, have kept her original voices during their process of aging. You hear a lot of pretending. If I were a voice teacher, the first lesson would be finding your voice. It’s harder than it sounds. In my entire life I never wanted to sing. Ok, maybe when I was five. I bored everyone ’cause I were singing in the shops, buses, on the streets, everywhere. But later went to choir just to get away a bit from home. I think that singing is the job for somebody else. Singing is hard. Playing even harder. Dancing is another story. That’s easy. Even if it lasts 5 hours it is still easy. |
The Grammys, if you want to attach any kind of general sensibility to it, is an LA thing.true hearing some so-called influence, or more accurately, some attempt to copy or imitate the greats, is not the same as ’hearing them’.true the nominating process for the music industry ceremony is "rigged" and clouded by conflicts of interest.true https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFLiDrYPE1w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8P80A8vy9I bye, bye :--)) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxmz3RcNNBE |
Uh, that Art Pepper Live, Thank You Blues is great... You should see my blackberry bushes and Black-eyed Suzies (am I allowed to say that?), Mary-jo! Looking great. New pear trees, not so much.fro, lucky you, nothing delicate would survive my care. I have tough guys, lemon and orange tree, kiwi, grapevine. Come to think of it, one lemon is looking too yellow, I have to do something about it... |
What can I say? I like Nina. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua2k52n_Bvw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ckv6-yhnIY Janis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXV_QjenbDw |
Imagine Etta James or Millie Jackson, doing "Guess who I saw Today". They would have shot the boy in the first verse! Song over. Now I understand better the difference between New York- ish and Mississippi-ish. The voice is absolutely great but the emotion...where is the feeling? She sings like she saw apples and oranges double pack instead preferred single pack in the store... This morning I was watching a TV show. There she was, a beautiful singer, all dressed up. I know her, I like her good looking and her voice, she is very good. But when she started singing, it was the new song, I was disappointed. It was not who she was, the song, the lyrics simply does not suite her personality. She looks like she could eat the man for breakfast, I just can’t believe her words when she moans about the lost opportunity in love and things like that. If you can't show that you can bleed, like the rest of us, ordinary human beings, I am not interested... |
Thank God!:--) I know what you mean. If I may say something. :--) Those are exceptions. Exceptions are possible. Mostly, if she is too quiet, she is too quiet. She might go to flame once a while because of restraining herself to long but in general, she is quiet type. You’ll know when you meet the other type, what opposite of quiet looks like. |
Warning, woman on the thread. Hide all your cigarettes and adult magazines...or maybe not. Just dropping by to say warm hello... They asked once an old man, an atheist, why he celebrated Christmas if he wasn’t believer. The old man said: Are you crazy? You’re saying I should miss the chance to have a party? Same here... Happy Valentine’s day guys. This party is not be missed. Hashtag roses and hearts. :--)) What else? Chet of course... https://youtu.be/UOEIQKczRPY I have changed my hair for you, just to let you know. Almost forgot. If there is among you anyone who does not appreciate Chet singing, calm down, I have prepared the alternative for today’s celebration day: https://youtu.be/FzG4uDgje3M 1.9B views, just noticing... |
Good morning everybody. It's morning here so it has to be everywhere. Speaking of being Mississippi-ish, here is old one for you... Spelling Mississippi |
What?! That is horrible. No candle light?! No sweet nothings in one’s ear?! No footsies?! NO NANCY WILSON?!!!Nooo....and after (you know what), we cover ourselves with blanket from tip to toe and kindly ask: Is it over? If that is not romantic I really can’t say what it is. No, when we made things clear, you’re surely agree that it is better sooner than later, we can continue with jazz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4LSr9vUqbA (I am gonna need one after moderators get me) |
