Jays Audio Being Dismantled-Final videos

So I am watching the final videos of Jays Audio.  They are downright depressing.

So I guess he's not having a sale of all the gear which I guess is migrating with him to Texas.

Did he ever find his final amplifier and speaker that he continues to search for. What's next after Texas?

Probably the most well-known audio dealer in the country. Who else compares?

He is never satisfied and always pushing for something new.  I guess we all are pursuing greener grass on the other side of the fence.  I read that ivana Trump's husband overpaid for a new mega yacht and quite frankly I don't understand why people buy these things.  Apparently his sister-in-law's husband overcharged him. Despite being supersized, a yacht of any size can still be a terribly uncomfortable place to live. And after the first week the novelty quickly wears off.

So maybe Jay has figured it all out and will find whatever it is he's looking for.

I am ambivalent about Jay.

On one hand he wears his heart on a sleeve, says whatever comes to his mind, and he seems to have a genuine passion for high-end audio (I am leaving it unsaid if he's a competent critic and listener - that's not my point).

On the other hand, he seems quite self-centered and milking this move, like it's an earth shattering event, for all it's worth with umpteen videos. It has a bit of a drama queen kind of feel to me.

I think you have to be a certain personality to think that people would be interested in all the minutia of your move.

Check out this video if you haven't seen it.

This is when Jay visited Danny Richie from GR Research's house in Texas.

He was blown away by $5500 open baffle towers running off $400 (each) battery powered mono blocks and $3500 open baffle servo controlled 3x12" subs also powered by batteries. In front of those were a battery powered modified Mac mini and a custom built DAC and a tube pre amp running off,,, you guessed it, battery power.

Could this move to Texas been motivated by this experience???

You make the call.

Just love seeing mystery boxes and cabinets. It’s fascinating. Sure they design these things in mystical ways and then put a few thousand dollars of components inside and then market the hell out of them, and somehow they’re able to find people willing to spend 40 - $60,000 for just one mystery box for their audio System. And they do all this without really explaining what they are selling.

Of course the more you spend its likely you will have a better sounding system that you may or may not like and then you’ll spend more. Willingness to spend $30,000 or more to embellish the feeling of greater harmonics soothing through your soul is amazing and they take advantage of it.

I like my system it does an amazing job for me.

Jay is a pioneer who offers encouragement for those desperate people purchasing audio gear and have no idea what they’re doing.

I guess wealthy people live in Texas.  People with lots of money spend a lot of money on this higher end gear which jay loves. And quite frankly most of us do.  The days of pretending A $200,000 speaker and an oversized amplifier is appropriate for placement inside a garage are over.
