ISO active speaker for a friend (Apple Music streaming req'd)... need help choosing

A friend of mine enjoys sitting in my music room and has asked if I can give him some pointers on a simple setup for his mountain house. They rent the house out occasionally, so he doesn't want anything too fancy. I'd like to find him a good quality active bookshelf speaker with a matching subwoofer. And the whole system has to be able to play Apple Music wirelessly from his phone. Something where he'd be all in around $3k-$4k. I've heard good things about the KEF LS50 active bookshelf speaker, but I don't think it works with Apple's airplay. I hope I'm wrong about that because otherwise I think it would be perfect.
