intergra dhc 80.1 front wide channels

hi all, i've been tbrying to tweak my system and its driving me crazy.
i just wanted to get some others feedback on the experiences with using the front wide channels.

i find that when i use the audyssey front wide channels for blu ray, the sound quality is not a clean and clear opposed to 5.1 mastr audio/true hd.

i find that the bass from my subwoofers dont sound as clear aswell. it seems like the bass from the subs are muddy and not as tight. is this because of the 2 extra phantom channels being created (front wide).

can anyone please let me know what they have experienced.
