Innuos Zen Mini MKI MKII, MKIII actions for better sounding of this beautiful music server

 

Hey to all guys who own the Innuos Zen Mini:

I am a new member here now. Greetings to all of you. I thought i must tell you what i found out:

it´s a great step making the sounding of the Zen Mini more audiohil if you give it a clean power supply. I feed it with a 12.8V LiFePo4 battery and it sounds like a small Innuos Statement i think. You wont believe how much better the Mini sounds. No plugged in power supply will make this change. 

An external clock will make another step for making the sound much better. I first tried it with a Wyred 4 Sound Recovery USB reclocker. Now there is an Innuos Phoenix USB Clock. I am using it with a Aqua La Scala DAC on a Goldmund pre amp/amplifier combi. Speakers are Avantgarde Acoustiv Zero TA. Would be nice if someone would give an echo to me

Hi,

i took a 5mm hollow plug soldered it to a good wire, some cable shoes on the other side for connecting the battery. The Mini needs about 1 Ampere. So you might think it works 280 hours. But i recharge it every 6-8 days. A smaller battery does it too but you will have to recharge 2-3 every days. I had a 60Ah battery before the big one. Try it, but pay attention to the polarity. The Zen Mini is very robust with the voltage from 10 to 12.8 or more. It switches off if the battery gets empty and you can charge the battery during it is connected

Just curious; how do you connect the battery to your Zen Mini? Also, how long is it before you need to recharge the battery when it's feeding the Zen?
