1. DV-09; Extremely overbuilt and excellent as a transport. hard to beat even today.
2. DV-79AVI: All around excellent transport and excellent as a CD player. Very nice internal DACS.
3. BDP-95 FD: very nice unit
4. BDP-09 FD: This is the monster. It has I believe Four internal DACS and is a rock solid transport also. I use this in 2 channel listening room as a transport into my Audio Research DAC 9. I also feed directly from the analog output into my pre-amp (in case my DAC 9 is out). I have not only a McIntosh Labs MS300 music server (currently in my office system), but an Aurender ACS-10 music server/streamer/ripper in my main system, and the BDP-09 into the DAC 9 is better that the Aurender ACS-10 streaming and also playing music from the internal hard disc. I'm telling you the BDP-09 is outstanding.
Pioneer did not play around with their Elite units. This was Pioneer's "high end" and they did it very well. The DV-09 doesn't play some CD's, but man is is well built and nice.
The BDP-09 is outstanding as a transport and very nice as a CD player.
These were multiple thousand dollar units in the day, which when compared to today's units fare extremely well if not better, and for the money ($450) used, there is no way you can beat them.
enjoy
