I cannot speak to how one would rewire the arm, but would suggest that you pursue doing so. I once had a PT-6 and later bought a Loth-X modified PT-6 (which is rewired, has the fluid pot eliminated and is fitted with a modified cable). Night and day difference -a great, great arm for the price. Good luck!
