How to make a Technics 1200 M3D sound better?

What can I do to make the turntable sound better? I have thought about replacing the cheap rca cables with nicer ones, but I don't know if it's even possible, nor how to do it if I did.
Does anyone know about this? Or does anyone know where I might find this info?

Also consider from an audiophile perspective the addition of the TD-1200 fluid damping system and PS-1200 regulated powersupply.
There are alot of cartridges out there however the Groovemaster AE works well.

Get rid of the thick rubber mat. Found a felt one (D-stat) sounds much better.
