How to I prepare unused inputs on an amplifier?

I have a Bob Carver Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature 7 channel amplifier.  I have moved to a smaller home and I no longer have space for for all those speakers.  I know that Bob Carver used very unusual designs in his equipment and was wondering how I should prepare the unused inputs?  Should the inputs be shorted somehow or just left open.  The inputs are XLR if I remember correctly.  I just want to make sure I don't do anything stupid and damage this old amplifier.

Thank you very much.  I just wanted to make sure.  I know Bob Carver had some very controversial amp designs and I was hoping shorting the inputs wouldn't cause any damage.

Thanks for your response!
