Have you heard swans powered book shelf ($250), and cambridge soundworks (economical) ? Some of the best sounding computer speakers I've heard. You might want to hear them before deciding.
The creatures sounded ok but small. Swans will give you good music on your computer. Might want to upgrade the soundcard to something like yamaha cavit (ebay or buy.com) units - usb connection improves the sound, unless you have an upscale soundcard like RME of Lynx.
