How Could I Get A Mivera Audio Purestream and Superstream Serviced If Needed?

So I am considering dabbling in the used market for a Mivera Purestream and Superstream. I understand Mike (I don't know his last name) has closed down the Mivera website, and is perhaps doing OEM design these days.

While these units look nicely built, I have been trying to answer the question of how could I get one serviced if that was ever required. I don't have a way to contact the designer yet, and that is stopping me from making a purchase.

But if anyone has an idea of techs that I could call in an hour of need. Then I think I could feel better about making a purchase of one.

anyone able to get a hold of Mike? His miveraudio.com email shutoff too. There's a group of us who has paid over a year ago, and are still waiting for him to get back to us on PureMusic MKII.
He sold all the units with 10 yr warranty but now looking back I think that it was a fluke just to make buyers comfortable. All those who are waiting for PureMusic MKII, did anybody receive one yet ?
I think he shuttered that business so the warranty / trade-in options likely went with it. I was in the queue for a Purestream Dac but there were issues with his suppliers that forced him down a different route and he just didn't have the money to refund people after he'd sunk it into the project. I got some back through the credit card company but lost the rest.

I don't think there has ever been a question over the quality of the gear, but the approach to dealing with backers and 'secret groups' should give an indication of what to expect in terms of support!

Hey guys just discovered this thread. When I closed my forum 1 year ago from this week, I told everyone my new email address. And explained that my old email address would expire in January along with my website. Regarding Puremusic upgrades, nobody actually ordered an upgrade. They bought credit to use towards future upgrades when available. And everyone decided to use that credit towards the next gen Puremusic upgrade when available. Because I was offering 60-70% off for forum members.

Before I closed my forum, I told everyone I will contact them when the upgrades are available. It’s only been a year. Most companies don’t upgrade products to new generations every single year. So I don’t think it’s been an unreasonable timeframe for the upgrade yet. Especially since forum members got 50% off of the first gen. And many claimed to replace $30000+ worth of separates from their $4000 purchase.

So nothing is off the table. Plans are still moving forward as agreed. Even though Mivera Audio is no longer in business.

Regarding the guy who said he had to get refunded though his credit card. I don’t recall ever fighting with anyone for a refund. After I cancelled the DAC I offered far better options for an alternative. And most people gladly went for them. And I never had a single chargeback to my credit card account. They let you know those kind of things if they happen.

Anyone who wants to chat send me a PM.

Thanks,

Mike

Did any break down yet? Most companies don’t honour warranty work if their business goes under. However I still will as long as it hasn’t been tampered with. I see lots of pictures floating around the internet of units that have been modified though.
