Thank you kosst_amojan! I was unaware of the USB-C specification limitation. That would certainly explain a lot. As you suggest, I'll go with a 3m USB-A > USB-B cable and an adapter to connect with my MBP.

High quality USB-C to USB-B cable. Does such a thing exist?

Standards are meant to be broken. : ) @kosst_amojan is correct in the length-of spec. If you are open to it, explore starting here: https://www.newnex.com/usb-cable-maximum-length-limits.php I just looked into a Type C 3.1 custom power cable (not data) and one hang up I ran into were the soldering requirements. BTW, I am running a stock Type C power/data cable into a Chromecast Ultra that is 2 meters. I would personally explore a custom cable (3 meter in your case) and compare it vs an adaptor. Really the only way to know. PM me if you need vendor recommendations. |
Just came across this article by Nick Guy / Wirecutter https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-usb-c-video-cables-and-adapters/ No mention of C to B but the article may give you some additional information. |
