Hi TBG, we put 450 minuture lights on the tree this year, thought about what Ddraudt said about a fan on his furutech outlet's to burn-in, so I read the box of the light's, 183.6 watts 60hz 120 volts, so I grabed a 10 ft extention cord and pluged the christmas tree into the furutech GTX-D Rhodium, LOL!, the lights have a nice sheen to them, I really believe that I prefer the Rhodium version, currently, it's night and day difference to me, to give my poor cd-player a rest, the transport and tubes, I thought the christmas tree was a wonderful idea, since the cd-player likly only draws 25 to 35 watts, my amp should be back from krell this coming week, that will surely zap the recepticles with power, I hope a Rhodium sounds better on the amp, and I hope to much of a good thing does not over do it if you know what I am saying, the good news is, I only need to use two Furutech GTX-D recepticles. |
Hi Ddraudt, are you talking direct or what company?, I was not aware that Furutech sold direct?, I do need one more frame and cover plate, can you do a link here of what you are talking about?, Thankyou. |
Hi calvinj, I have been meaning to ask you, what is your impression's between running direct to amplification compaired to active pre-amps? |
Calvinj, you really owe it to your self to get one of these Furutech GTX-D outlets, get both, the Gold is really good too, comes down to preferance, I like them both, still under evaluation, however, Steve has told me that I'm getting 90% of the Rhodium at 230 hrs I got at 4:30 am this morning, I will get small improvements all the way to 500 hrs, LOL!, I have not decided on the first componet yet on the Gold or Rhodium. |
Lak,unfortunately, your Furutech will still need at least 200 hrs of playing music for it to come into it's own, I know, The Gold version I have was cooked for 6 days by vh-audio, the Rhodium I have was not cooked, it sounds incredible at 230 music hrs, I have a little over 202 music hrs on the Gold, it sounds really good now compaired to just cooked. |
yes Calvinj, The Rhodium has won the tube/solid state hybred digital position hands down, I can hear a fly's wings flapping on the wall within the recording with the clarity, detail treble air beyound belief, detail that brings out all nuances that I have never heard before, vocals that have front to back depth of the presatation that is as real as it get's for vocals, spooky!, timberal accuracy with incredible speed, bass that is so defined, you can hear the foot pedal on the bass drum's,snare drum's that sound like it is in the room with you, I suppose all this can be system dependent and cable dependent, likly, that is why even Furutech made two version's of the GTX-D wpo's, LOL!, if there is better, which I doubt for my system, I do not need it period, for what? |
calvinj, your needed there on a thread called, Ayon cd-2s consideration's, michaelzay want's your advise, LOL! |
calloway, you will not surpress my passion!, what are you, the audiogon police!, whatever! |
I apologize Calloway, just seem's most others can talk about their equipment here, and if you back read this thread, you will discover that I am correct, you could have E-mailed me to start another thread about wpo's, that would have been the nice thing to do, instead of telling all of us what to talk about, however, I was out of line with frustration, again, I apologize. |
Thankyou calloway, I understand. |
Hi Ddaudt, what new adventures do you have to report to us concerning your journey with high-fidelity cables and products?, I do enjoy your reviews and feed back, I look forward to the high-fidelity amplifier situation. |
I thought Rick was coming out with an amplifier? |
Agisthos, +1, I know alot about Ddraudt, one thing I will share, He is a passionate well seasoned audiophile and gentleman, and I like him alot, yes, I agree, leave Ddraudt alone! |
I have a question here, how many of you have EVER tried the cost no object current cables available today? |
To deem this brand best available is really out right cXXXXX!, till you get the Tara Labs Zero Evolution or Grandmaster Evolution, Zero Gold-Omega Gold, this entire thread is nothing, I have had the HF cables here, good for what they are, the real revalation is what none of you can afford! |
somebody has to say something that knows better!, can any of you make the same statement?, I recently had Tara's best here, HF's best etc.., no!, I cannot afford Tara's best, sadly, I sent them back, they knew that I had to, but to listen to such cable, and yes, all of these are cables, regarless of what you want to say!, The Tara's were far and away an exsperience I will never forget! |
Goodby, I do not care to argue senseless of what all of you believe, untill you here what i am speaking of, you have nothing to say! |
Fplanner2000, yes, I agree with your post too, It is a matter of preference, though Dave D is an internet friend of mine, he claimed that their was no better cables in the industry compaired to what he own's, and that everyone belives what he said, that is the only reason I posted here, enjoy your thread. |
Fplanner2000, the only thing I did not evaluate was the HF power cords, so I look foward to what you have to say when you get the other urr HF power cord on your system, I can imagine they take a very long time to burn-in, what is your estimate that they take? |
Thankyou my friend calvinj, see, you did not need a helmet, Ha,he, I do like your humor, congrats calvinj, you know, this is all about what makes us, the individule happy! |
Hi everyone, I have read the unfortunate post about the speaker cables here,I had the same exsperience, does the power cables do the same db drop in volume?, from what alot of you have said, the power cables is the biggest jump of performance over the other types of cables of HF, I do like what power cables are capable of doing,I have seen where alot of cable brands are known for their power cables than any thing else, stage 3 Kracken comes to mind, cheers. |
Hi calvinj, are you useing any of the HF power cables?, if so, what model?, are you going to move to the URR power cord? |
Almarg, How would all these people be able to measure the capacitance of their speaker cable's and Interconect's?, That would be interesteing to know these measurements. |
Thankyou Almarg, very imformative, cheers. |
I have heard many good things about the tripoint Emperor from audiocrack that owns the Tara Labs Grandmaster Evolution cables through out his system, including the Grandmaster power cords, the emperor is a sensational grounding point for any given system! |
Hi Tom, you can say the same about many others on this thread, all I ws doing was complimenting Norm on a good laugh, thats all, enjoy the thread here. |
TBG, now that is very funny indeed, I really laughed myself out of my chair for real when I read your post, very good sence of humor. |
who has a $70,000.00 speaker cable?, not Tara Labs! |
Hi everyone, hope all of you are doing well, I keep up with this thread, but hardly ever comment here in a long time, I wanted to express my agreement of calvinj's post 9-11-15, you see, I have the same issue on the TARA thread, A guy tried to tell me who I know, or who knows me, lol, quite ludicrous! |
I was referring to calvinj's post to 9-11-15 to ptss, well said calvinj. |
So, what is the best speaker cable's and interconnect high fidelity has these days? |
TBG Is correct! I am sorry, I got quite excited of the discussion about High-fidelity cables!,The ct-1 ultimate cable!, yes, I believe thats the cable coming soon!, TBG, The cable cable company said, That a balanced cable is in the R&D, There is no prototype as you said, simply in the works, Charles1dad, Thats exactly what the cable company said,LOL!, A natural sound!, Thankyou TBG and charles1dad for giving me the time of day to talk to me!, Its hard for some members to accept someone new!, I am a new member to audiogon, So if it seems out of the ordinary, please excuse me and have patience with me, I try to carry my self like a gentleman, but at times I get excited!,, Happy listening! |
I'm having a morning cheers with some Texas music, Kermit Ruffins- the big butter & egg man. |
Mmmmm, why was jmcgrogan2's post removed? , I went all the way to page 55, got tired of looking for his post, I was curious because it seemed a few member's were talking to them self's for many, many pages before I discovered who they were talking too, any way, wanted to say hello to everyone, enjoy the music. |
First time ever that I'm aware of, a professional review of high fidelity products that is not on the Internet, one of the newest stereophile magazine's, March I believe, any way, I enjoyed reading the review of the magnetic adapter's😆 |
Hi rlawry, recently I’ve decided to listen and own the origins of high end audio to expand my knowledge of audio, Lord knows I’ve got experience with the latest and greatest equipment, so I decided to do the blast from the past thing, so I picked up some Altec Lansing 892a mandera speaker’s, two way studio monitors, I’m useing magico q3 speaker’s as shelf’s for the speaker’s, useing the furutech gtx-rhodium outlet’s, although on my modern system I have the new NCF furutech gtx-rhodium outlet’s on that system, also, on the mandera speaker’s I’m useing shunata anaconda speaker cable’s and interconnect’s on a Rega osiris integrated amp, with the modright oppo 95 that has the tubed out board power supply, the oppo unit has two 6sn7 tubes coming out the top of the unit, I done a series of speaker placement test, as it turns out, the speaker’s are to be used on their side’s with woofer’s on the inside of the sound stage, now remember, there is the magico q3 speaker’s under the mandera speaker’s, so I fully understand what mid-range sounds like, the outcome of the evaluation was that these vintage speaker’s are magical!, seems they cross over at 3khz, nearly all the sound is coming out the 10inch driver, these speaker’s also have a 5inch or so horn, they really don’t have much bass, but oh boy do they do musical right!, likely one of the best mid-range sound ever, they have no brightness, the speaker’s have a switch on the back that to my surprise, works well, the switch is as follows, normal, -3 db, -6 db., it seems this sounded so good, I’m going to pick up the sherwood 7100 receiver made in USA circa 1973 this coming weekend , the Alec Lansing 892a mandera are circa 1968!, I’m not sure why something is wrong with art dudley liking vintage equipment, is this stuff extreme transparent, the last word in frequency extension in both directions, holographic as modern systems, of course not, but musical with mid-range at this point just kicked the crap out the magico q3 speaker’s! 😎 |
Mmmm, I must be wrong, these speaker’s do have pretty good bass, I did dig the shunata anaconda cable’s out the closet bend of, oh what’s this, didn’t know I had that, the cable’s must be re-burning in, I did just get the Altec lansing 892a mandera speaker’s this past Saturday 😛 |
Well it's really new Orleans music, cool horn jazz😃 |
I'm impressed with these jewel among the ruff find for speaker's, the above mentioned rig sounds incredibly musical, wow! 🖒 |
benjie, before I go, the post are about there are great vintage gear out there, to undermine a well seasoned reviewer such as Art Dudley of stereophile magazine because he likes some vintage gear doesn't have any reason to question his review of the March 2016 issue of high-fidelity magnetic adapter's 😎 |
Rlawry, you are a newbie to me!, your posting's are 346 compared to my 3,966, that said, you are not qualified to even voice your opinion to me! You have no clue of audio in it's entirety!, you need to be more opened minded to there is more to audio than high fidelity cable's!, , I have sold all my high fidelity cable's, as a matter of fact, I wanted to listen to the origins of high fidelity cable's, I have a virtual dynamics nite series 2 if your interested in buying it!, this cable also has magnetic conduction, I'm not hijacking nothing, I want art dudley respected! |
Calvinj, there is no Absolute Sound or stereophile review of high fidelity products other than art dudley's that was recently in stereophile. |
Ddraudt, I call it the way I see it, the same individual pretty much hates you, so much for picking your side, thanks |
Hi Dave, how many different model’s are in the high fidelity pro series? |
Glad to finally see this thread go away, the cable's sound thin and bottle necked compared to state of the art cable's. |
Hi Kantx, The Tara Lab's Evolution Grandmaster cable's, they have been compared to Nordost odin 1 and 2, amd Crystal cable, micro mega, Audioquest, siltech, cardas, kimber cable, transparent, mit, wire world, purest audio design, etc.., check out the shoot out on what's best forum. |
Go to page 13, the last page, read the comparison between Tara Lab's and Nordost, good read. |
Any one know what has happened to jmcgrogan 2 ?, |
