H Ddraudt, That's funny you mentioned that you would change your componets to accomadate your cables, I have been doing that for many, many, years now with tara labs cables, when this is the solution, then you know you are happy with your cables to the point, if anything changes the presatation or tone, that componet is gone! |
No!, what difference does it make that I am talking to Ddraudt about Tara labs or High-fidelity cables here? Dave knows what I like, I know what he likes, this does not divide our friendship at all!, calvinj comes on the tara thread all the time talking about the HF cables, I dont care the least bit!, I enjoy what he has to say about his cable journey, and his love for music, cable brand has nothing to do with it, I like many here on this thread, your comment to me is like saying, hey dude, if you like Magico, you cannot talk here because this is a thread that all of us like Tannoy, really, whatever. |
Thankyou for your reply and courtesy Ddraudt, cheers my friend. |
Calvinj, must be nice that you are getting to try nearly everything under the sun, I envy you!, I love what I have, however, it is always fun to play, this is the same as, I will try this ferrai, now this porche, this mercedes, awsome!, you live once, you will have fewer what ifs turned over that will not be left in the back of your mind, maybe one day I can talk you into some Dan D agostino momentum equipment, used, any of it.,BTW, you may talk all that you want about the High-fidelity cables on the Tara Labs thread, I enjoy all that you say Calvinj, just as I enjoy what Ddraudt has to say, a great learning exsperience for me, cheers. |
congrats to calvinj on building his system, congrats to Tboooe on getting himself a ct-1 digital cable, talking about bass, I could not stand for more at all!, it's not exaggerated or bloated, just crazy deep and plenty of it, cheers. |
calvin, I took a peak at you Dac, this thing looks great!, I seen the specs, a canadian company you want to go with?, how does it stack against you know who that starts with an A,LOL! |
calvin, Is the Dac burn-in yet?, If so, what camp do you believe it belongs in, warm resolution Musicality, or cold analitical steril sound that most out there believe is music that I get listener fatigue from? |
Calvinj, I made a mention about you and The ressonessence Mirus dac on matts absolute best redbook dac shoot out there on the digital threads of audiogon, I believe you would be an asset to us all if you came there to elaborate on this product there, I do not believe they will tolerate talking about anything other than HF cables here! |
|
Calvinj did not have the Tara Labs the One with HFX grounding station, with the OEM length jumper cables that have to be used for best sound results, and Calvinj did not have a Tara Labs ISM on board Either, that is the version with the capsules made onto the cable, calvin had a Tara The one with componet grounding scheme, which is the cheapest poorest version tara labs ever made of the one cable, calvinj's version has been discontinued since the late 1990's, there is a substantial sound difference between the three versions of the same cable, cheers Gentleman. |
calvinj, I did not say eanything to you, I simply made a clarification of your exsperience of Tara labs, which is none, other than out dated cables from 20 years ago!, and the tara labs The Two with ISM on board that is a great budget cable for controlled band width, for systems with brighness or to forward of a sound stage!, you know nothing of tara labs to make any such Bold meaningless statements! |
Ddraudt, I would love that!, as a matter of fact, I can call Tara labs to send me some cables and embarras you on your own system with some new top tier cables from tara labs, are you game? |
Jmcgrgan2, I am not embarassed to state facts, these or not opinions, I do not care if calvin wants to use HF cables, thats his choice, however, he cannot compaire the two at all, thats all im saying, he had nothing to judge a sound of a company, I sugest everyone to be sure to read the october issue of stereophile magazine of the review of the new second from the top tara labs Evolution Zero interconnects and matching Evolution Omega speaker cables, Guess what Michael Freamers opinion is of the conclusion of the review? |
calvinj, If I frustrated you here with real facts, I am sorry, please forgive me, enjoy your hf cables, come post your impressions on the tara labs thread, I enjoy your journey and happiness of what you have, I love passion, I am the same calvin, were all good, friends always! |
I certainly have heard many fine cables!, cables that retail for more than I own, all the way down to $30.00 a meter cables, I have listened to so many cables, I do not care to list them, John atleast out of frustation listed a few he has owned or listened to. |
calvinj, I invite you to hear my system, get with me on the time, you can stay here at my house, save money on hotel bill, your whole position will be forever changed!, you have my phone number, yesterday, I played a celtic music cd in regular digital format, my wife set up a chair and listened to the whole cd, when it was done, she had tears in her eyes, and said, that was if I were at the musical event! |
calvinj, hey, would you like a copy of this extrodinary celtic music cd, it was recorded right here in mobile, alabama, two piece band that lives here recorded tracks over tracks, it is an awsome mind blowing exspereice, The musicians are spectacular!, incredible amount of different instruments used, it is magical sounding. |
Before I go sheriff, I wanted to show some recent Awards, this is just a few, there are many, many more!, Tara labs Awards, The absolute sound magazines 2006,2010,2012,2013 editors choice awards., The absolute sound magazines 2006,2007,2008,product of the year Award., Audio Excellence 2007 AEX Award and Absolute sounds JV Golden Ear awards., Sterophile 2012 Best Sounding High-End Products Awards., stereophile 2012,2013 Recommended Componets Awards., Hi-Fi Magazine 2009 Best sound At show Award., RMAF/Apex audio Absolute sounds 2012 Best sound at show., CES/Ayon 2013 AV sound, Best sound at show Award., Super Av magazines 2011,2012 out standing over all performance Award., Newport/Ayon 2013 Stereophile, Best sound show Award. |
P.S. Mr C, all them Awards were won with my Exact model of cables I have here at My house!, Ddraudt, I will respect your wishes, your ok with me, always have liked you and enjoy your post, LOL!, over and out sheriff. |
Thankyou calvinj, you are my friend, and a true gentleman. |
TBG, Hi, Tara labs was NOT at R.M.A.F. 2014, All of you can go to the R.M.A.F. 2014 web-site, hit exhibitors, input search with the word cables, their you have the complete list of room number and brands of cables with the models on what system, there was a couple of cable brand names listed that started with a T there, however, it was not Tara labs, if they were there with any new Tara labs cables, you would have been shocked with the performance of their two new top models and spent the day at the exhibit re-discovering your music you may have brought with you to the show, cheers |
TBG, I do not believe you!, that would be impossible, There is not a person on earth that would not be shocked of the performance if they heard a Tara labs Grandmaster Evolution cable, or Zero and Omega Evolution cable system, If Michael freamer of Stereophile recently claims he has never listen to a better cable system in his life than the Tara labs Zero Evolution interconnect and Omega Evolution speaker cables, and this is not the top cable from Tara labs, all I can tell you, you were not listening to new Tara labs cables!, I already said, Tara labs was NOT at R.m.A.F. show, there is no way a company as known as Tara labs not be listed on the R.M.A.f, audiofest internet site!, the site listed all vendors of cables and everything else, you made a mistake!, There were other cable companys that were started with the letter T, I have double checked this numerous times, you may believe that audiofest was dishonest if you like, I know who and what to believe. |
Thanks Dave, I am sorry that all this landed on this thread, seems John brought alot to mt attention that I was not aware of here, It does not matter, seemed to me we were talking just fine, until this intervention happened. |
Thankyou Ddraudt for the kind words, recently my theory is that my amp must have finally burned in, I am hearing air 3-dimensional treble resolution I did not know was possible with home audio playback that I have never exsperienced on my system, so yes, the music has taken me to soothing places and lifted me up a little, Happy listening. |
Thankyou for your kindness Mr. Mcgrogan, I wish you and your familly the best of the Holidays, Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. |
welcome to the Harmon- Kardon familly of products calvinj, enjoy! |
calvinj,I have never listened to a Krell amp that was bright ever, any amp will sound bright with something in the system that is the cause, cheers. |
Calvinj, time for an older Krell,Pass Labs, Boulder, solid state class A high current amplifier, your choice here, any of these would mate well with your speakers, cheers. |
Hi Calvin, Do you still have the Mirrus Dac? |
I am impressed that you are keeping the Mirrus, the dac must be good if it's a keeper, we both have been through so much concerning digital, you think?, have you tried the sd card slot on the player to better affect over using a transport to the dac?, what model of High-fidelity cable will you be useing on this position?, Thanks calvinj. |
cardas makes some very good adapters to use with your HF cables. |
Lak, wow!, that may be a different perspective,720 hrs is alot is a understatement, in your case, I bet 100 hrs of music and your done, the sound stage is what is so spooky about the Rhodium, just enough forward presatation to be engageing, but depth that knocks your back sheet rock through the wall, on vocals, this is uncanny realistic sounding, I do like the Rhodium. |
Hi, Excuse me fellows, as this is the best place I know of to find TBG, TBG, as it turns out I am buying both the Rhodium and Gold versions of the Furutech GTX-D outlets, I am buying the Rhodium from Steve Klein who spoke highly of you on the phone with me yesterday, says he has known you for a few years, what ever the version that sounds best for my amp will go on that position, and it may turn out that I will run all Rhodium if it does better on my digital, chris at vh-audio said I can exchange the gold for the Rhodium if I liked it better, I am buying the complete package deal from him, the aluminum wall frame and carbon fiber face plate cooked on his cable burner for 6 days, this will take a couple of months to determine impressions because the Rhodium version is brand new with no cable burner cooked time, Steve said, 500 hours and more on the one he is selling me, and the Gold will only need 100 to 200 max hours since it has been pre-cooked, I believe It is best to install the Rhodium on my amp first, what do you think? |
Thankyou Calvinj, I do enjoy reading your many journys of audio, Happy Listening. |
Hi Lak, As A matter of fact, I did have an incident with the furutech GTX-D Gold version of the two I have under audition, I screwed out the screw on the side that is not the ground to far out, and the screw fell out, it took an hour to get the machined screw to catch the plate inside the recepticle, the plate kept falling over, I could not do it, the wife had to fix the recepticle, this took an hour to fix, what ever all of you do, Do not unscrew the screws to the furutech's to far out, you wished you never did! |
thankyou for your reply TBG, This will take a while I am sure, I hate the bussiness of burn-in of anything. |
I have often wondered where the op is of this thread?, I would like to ask him what the view count is?, I bet it has big numbers,IMHO. |
Damn, I'm sorry to hear that, is their a possibilty to know the views of this thread? |
TBG, That is incredible views you got for the H-Cat pre-amp thread, likly, the most I ever heard of Norm, my Tara Thread is not doing to bad, 82,000 views in 8 months, climbing fast each day, it has done better the last three weeks than it has done in the last 3 months, all of you are welcome there, and thankyou for allowing me to talk to all of you here. |
HI Ddraudt-Dave, I was wondering where you have been, must be quite busy, it is good to see you, yes, I got a Furutech GTX-D Rhodium oulet only coming from Steven Klein of sounds of silence audio company that makes these air plithes for resonance control that goes under any componet, you should check his stuff out, very interesting indeed, and, I am getting the complete cooked Furutech GTX-D Gold outlet, wall frame, carbon fiber outlet cover from Chris Van hause there at vh-audio, Dave, I only use two recepticles, I am going to have to go through the motions of burn-in to get impressions with what works where and on what, the good news is that If I do not need the Gold, Chris is willing to swap it out for the Rhodium at no cost but my shipping back the version I do not want, I thought that was a fair deal he does not offer on the normal bassis, The rhodium will be here saturday, the complete package will be here latter next week, all of it is paid for right now, it's just I elected for free ground shipping from Vh-audio, Dave, latter I will get the frame and cover plate for the other recepticle, LOL!, out of money today from making these orders. |
whatever john, that is your sadistic view point!, I have helped many everyday with that thread,I am not here to have this negativaty on this thread!, these gentleman welcome me to talk to them for me to learn from them! |
Hi Ddraudt, well, there is a correction, Chris Van Hause sent my order two day air, very impressive!, I will have all the orders the 11-22-14, Awsome!, Steve Klein sent his order to me the same method, I highly recommend both audio vendors. |
Thankyou calvinj for your great post and kind words. |
TBG,Calloway, calvinj, jazzonthehudson, Gentleman, I am not concerned of what all of have said to me, I have been told worse in my life, I am not perfect, at times I may get some angry, if all of you take the time to get to know me, you will look over my passion for what I enjoy in audio, I did not mean no harm to any of you, I am sorry, and forgive me if I ever pissed any of you off. |
Hi Ddraudt, I sent you a audiogon E-mail. |
Hi Calvinj, You would never believe what I am about to say!, first off, Rick Shultz is a first class gentleman, I do not know if all of you know he reads this thread from time to time, some one said he is a christian, which gos along way in my personal Book, Rick just sent me an E-mail telling me that he would send me cables to listen to if I like, I will take him up on the offer!, However, I am going to E-mail him back and ask if he would let me do his offer after I get a grip on where I need to use The Furutech GTX-D Rhodium and Gold, Then after that determine the effects of this very exspensive state of the art Furutech wall frame and Rfi/EMI shielded metal with carbon fiber coating outlet cover, I have Hundreds of dollars just in two fricken outlet's!, so I hope you understand as to why I need audio return's here for my familly's money, I have not even started burn-in process yet, Calvin, you know my krell 700cx got modded caps inside, guess what?, It will be back here from krell next week after getting modded power supplies, My intention is to have the only one of these like this in the world! |
Oh and Calvin, latter I will be putting the Synerchistic sr-Reds fuses times four inside this amp to further the modds, it is said that these work better than the competition with a 30 day money back gurantee! |
Hi Ddraudt, I wanted to tell you it is an honor to know you and speak to you, never have you offended me, thankyou for putting up with me, LOL! |
Ddraudt, ah, yes, I have been evaluating the Furutech GTX-D Rhodium and Gold through my tube/solid state head phone amp that is built in my cd-player with High-end cans, I have along ways to go till final impressions, however, there is some similarity's in sound, they are really as different as night and day over all, but they do share the Furutech house sound,if that makes any sence, 24 hrs is all I have got, It is a bitch pulling one out of the wall and installing the other, back and fourth, back and fourth, for each componet one at a time, kinda makes me believe this hobby is crazy!, essentially I believe the Rhodium is really incredible sounding to say the least, Dave, this may take God know's how long, now I understand why TBG said he does not like compairing outlets, I agree! |
I will also say that these outlet's are a Huge up-grade in sound, like going to a exotic cable or componet that cost many times the previous, let's say I am in awe at what technology these days have done with outlet's!, makes me feel old, this is not my first rodeo with after market recepticles, but these are game changers!, I Highly recommend them. |
