High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz

In December 2011,I wrote that High Fidelity cables led by cable designer Rick Schultz was putting together a new cable. The cable came to market as CT-1.The CT-1 has FINALLY made it into my system!I had obtained a version of the prototype that Rick had been working on.It blew my previous reference Genesis by Virtual Dynamics.I thought I had finally found my end with this cable. This prototype delivered to my ears "Nirvana".Could I be at the end of my quest for the ultimate sound?
No. I received two pairs of CT-1 to replace my prototypes. They went into the system this past Friday.Unable to dedicate time until Sunday listening,I stole a few moments, ducking away from company with anticipation. My guest could tell even with the music set for"ambiance"something was intriguing and I was in for a treat!
The experience:
First off,CT-1 was very user friendly.Installation was simple;the cable is very nice and light. The female RCA fit beautifully unlike any I had found in other cable. It was secure and reliable. It seemed much thought was dedicated to developing a designer fit to an aesthetically stunning RCA connector.Install entailed a few wiggles to ensure what seemed like a compression fit on my RCA.
It was 2-3 hrs. for the 1st step of break in to be complete. At that point I had something different!Today, although they only have 10-12 hrs. on them,I can`t put into words how much my system has transformed.Believe me,I loved my prototypes.However....there is simply no comparision.
The clarity and sound is so natural.
The soundstage is like nothing I ever heard.Resoulution is breathtaking and inner detail is simply hard to believe possible.
The sound has transended and now it simply does not seem as thought I have speakers.
My system is musicians playing music.
I am told with time they will improve and I trust that as it was revealed with the prototypes.I wanted to share my thoughts with you that now.
Unequivocally,a testament to High Fidelity,as the name declares.
High Fidelity Cables for me,the last word on it,after 12 hours!
Truly Amazing

@ Petieboy12003, Hi what a great post, very long thou, I still read all of it, I agree!, however, you did not get to my questions about your speakers!, please share the exsperiance!
@ Petieboy12003, Hi, Thankyou for getting back to me on my interest on the speakers you have, I will check that out, Happy listening.
@ Petieboy12003, Hi, Thankyou for getting back to me on my interest on the speakers you have, I will check that out, Happy listening.
I know all of you do, I need to confirm, Do all of you run a full loom of High-fidelity cables?
@ Leicachamp, I read this thread but not everyday, That is why I asked about the full loom, and no, I have not tried the High-fidelity cables, what difference does that make, concerning asking questions about how most of you use the cables!!, and no again, someone not running a full loom of High-fidelity cables will not stop me from tring some!, you have a strange way of being hospitable!
I am sorry gentleman, Not that This matters, LOL! I can send Pics of my full system, other than the The digital source I am buying to run direct to amp, Rest assured, I have a full system, I felt that I needed to say this, I have a system, since it was made out that I do not, I can prove other wise!, this is lame, let's get to the core of the thread!, Does High-fidelity have Balanced cables yet?, If not, Do any of you know If, and when there will be some balanced Interconnects?
Wow!, I would love for any of you to post on the Taralabs 0.8 thread about cables and accessories that better the sound of most componets, this is my same exsperience, my cables cost way more than the componets in my system, I thought I was maybe alone with believing that cables and accessories make the big difference with sound in a High-end system, They think I must be crazy to even say what all of you have here, cheers to all, this makes me happy to read there are believers!
You are right charles1dad, I agree with you, I enjoy reading all of your post, you are a well grounded audiophile, me, sorry, At times I get excited, some cables and other audio gets me the same as getting into a Ferrari for the first time versus a volkswagon, you can understand that, you have been there yourself, I enjoy every ones excitement Here, this is what it's suppose to be all about.
Man-o-man, John-Jmcgrogan2, You are absolutly wrong here, everything you said is FALSE!, I gave a valid explanation here that is the truth!, I had my exspensive cables for a long time, the last cable I bought was bought in june 2013!,why does this matter, these people do not care, neither do I!, what part of my post you do not understand!, I'm done, Those that can read understand what I posted!, This is a nice thread, I want them to carry on, without this B.S.!
@ Jmcgrogan2, why are you making fun of my down time with my system, I am in transition of getting a new digital player that takes time for me to pay for?, I had my cables long before this move, the cost of my cables has nothing to do with what I am doing!, My company is seasonal, I buy my gear in the spring, summer, and part of the fall. I could sale one of my looms of cables and get my digital player, I choose not to, I am keeping everything, I am going to build a second system with the loom of cables I am not useing on the main rig, and the digital player I am going to buy soon will land on the second system when I buy a much better player for the main system, I took the money from the last digital player and did a wise move!, I bought a very nice pick-up and trailer for my company, that way I can make more money and spend more on audio, I believe that making two to three times more money than I did last year will help, to make that happen, I Invested in the company!
Hi charles1dad, I do not believe in putting the horse before the cart myself, My first piece was my speakers, then my amp, digital player and cables were bought at the same time, then I bought more cables, and will be buying more cables, each step with each addition of another better performing cable has helped my system alot.
Thankyou gentleman for the kind words, I am sorry I disrupted your thread, it is a good thread, I love reading the passion here, reminds me of myself.
Thankyou TBG, I believe tring to use any kind of adapters would undermine the performance of any cable, As you know, my amp only has balanced and cast connections, sad but true, on the bright side of things, surely I will have the RCA connections for my second system, then I can rent some High-fidelity cables from the cable company when the time comes.
TBG, one of my interest with High-fidelity cables is you can run a full loom of it without any remorse from what I have been reading here on this thread, there seems to be alot of the members doing the full loom.
TBG, Is rightway audio in bussiness?, can you provide a link here so that I may see their offerings?, thanks Tbg.
Thankyou TBG, I do have the brown top ceramic audio isolators saved on my watch list archive, I believe I may have two places to get them when I am ready, I was currious of the isolators you talked about on the above threads, I never knew of them.
TBG, I have E-mailed both dealers, asking if they have available the classic brown top ceramic cable isolators, I will let you know their answers over the next few days, cheers.
@ TBG, Hi, As it turns out, the brown top ceramic isolators are available!, go to audiogon member, Red_dragon_audio_, e-mail them, the dealer there name is Ryan Tew, tell him audiolabyrinth sent you, cheers.
you are welcome TBg, let me know If may be of any help with anything else, cheers.
@ TBG, Awsome, now you are talking, This is why I like you, you have long exsperience with audio, you have done and seen so much, I respect you, this post is in regards to us talking about room treatment, this is my reply to your last post to me,Thankyou, cheers.
@ theaudiotweak Hi, this may come to a supprise to you!, I have given many seminairs on resonance tunning in the late 90s thru-out half the u.s.a!, I have met gale sanders, Dave wilson, people from Avolon acoustics, spectral electronics, and so on etc..., you may have heard of poly crystal resonance products that went out of bussiness years ago because Bruce Badlack could not keep up with production?, really!, anyway, I gave him a one of my inventions, the sorry S.O.B never paid me!, he sold it quite well!, I have been reading all that is said here, keeping my thoughts to my-self, I will tell you I have been amused at everything said here, It appears the few of the comunity has come along way, not very many audiophiles know what they are doing, they want to isolate everything instead of resonance tunning, I can litterally change the sound stage, bass, treble, clarity, mid-range, and etc..., with-out no electricty!, I have done this for a very, very, long time, when I express any thing about it, most believe nothing!, so I go on and do not concern myself with what they think, I have a couple of inventions now that I would like to make a reality, from cones for componets for tunning to speaker stands that are jaw dropping in performance, how do I know, I made proto types for myself, you would likly laugh at some of the materials used, that's ok with me, I know what happens when they are used, that's really all I care to say about it, cheers!
Many, many times when I traveled thru-out, I heard rooms with alot of room treatment with computer soft-ware and mics to configure the rooms sound, this was incredible!, I could yell to the top of my lungs and my voice would fall within an inch of my mouth!, needless to say, that system sounded like crap!, All rooms need some reverberation to the rooms sound, if you do not, speakers cannot breath their sound thru-out the room correctly, you can over do anything!
My cables have very fast transient speed and natural decay of notes!, they are not High-fidelity cables, really, there are a few cables in the world that have these traits, I have not listened to the high-fidelity cables myself, However, I have been around audiogon a couple of years, and read many members past post that talk on this thread, I trust their Ears fair enough to keep my interest in these cables, and the cost of the High-fidelity's best cables compaired to most other very good cables is inexspensive!
@ TBG, I will be making a post on the taralabs 0.8 thread of a run down of all the New Taralabs cables to be released for sale 5-1-14, I will be moving up the cable food chain of Taralabs myself to the Evolution Omega speaker cables and the Evolution Zero interconnects, Normally I would not do this, However, This new model that replaces My omega gold speaker cables and zero gold interconnects is a whoping 75% increase in performance!,The speaker cables is $2,000.00 more retail for 8ft than what I have,$26,000.00, I will be getting a 6ft pair, This is to be a cable system to be recond with, the only cable that will better this is the Taralabs Evolution Grand Master speaker cables and interconnects, that I cannot afford!, Maybe I can Ride off into the sunset?, You think?,LOL!
I am sorry gentleman, I was talking to TBG, He had some interest in the new Taralabs cables that I was Talking about weeks ago on a different thread,I also said to tBG to go to another thread to read what I was posting, BTW, Thats 26,000.00 for 8ft, I said, I am buying 6ft to save money, I did not mean for you guys to feel disrespected, LOL, That's why my post said, AT TBG!, gees, I apoligize to all of you, please forgive me.
Hi Ddraundt, I am going to send you an E-mail to you about some of the New taralabs offerings that go on sale 5-1-14, you make up your mind what will be a game changer in cable design and sound when you read what I send you, then maybe go and listen for yourself, that is allways the best thing to do, what I will send you is not on the Taralabs web-site, nor will it ever be on the revised web-site 5-1-14 to the extent of the info I will send, the High-fidelity and Taralabs are all good cables, I am going this week-end to listen to the ultimats of high fidelity, I am taking my discontinued Taralabs Zero gold interconnects and Omega Gold speaker cables to par against High-fidelity's best, My cables are discontinued as of 5-1-14, to be replaced by a new cable that has 75% better bandwidth, it will be the second from the flag -ship cable, The new cable I will be getting is called, The Zero Evolution interconnect with HFX floating Ground station system and The Omega Evolution speaker cable, now High- fidelity fans here do not feel direspected!, that is not my intent, I am E-mailing this gentleman, Ddraudt mentioned a comparison, and NO!, I do not have some sort of hidden agenda, and I am not a Dealer!, that is the craziest thing I ever heard, LOL, I have an open mind to all cable brands, I want to learn about them all, That way I can be an asset to other members, I have recommended cables to others that was NOT Taralabs cables, Really, Really, there are boat loads of brands and sounds out there, people should learn to have an open mind to see what is possible with audio, cheers gentleman.
Great review calvinj, The Two Ex is dicontinued, the new version of that cable is called, The two, there are now two versions of that cable for best system matching, there is the two with ISm on board for controlled bandwidth, systems that are wide bandwith like some amps out there, then the other version is The two with HFX Ground station system, this is called Extended bandwidth, It cost a little more, it is the more resolving model and is extended with more resolution, neitherless, This cables full retail is around $2,000.00 for ISM on board, and $300.00 to $500.00 more for the HFX Ground station system version, when you go up the cable food chain, the Taras are very fast on the attack, with note decay, resolution, more clarity, and delay to give the illusion of the real musical event, As you said, they are both great cables, cheers.
Yes! I am going saturday, why would I ever say something sounds better if it does not?,I do not work for NO audio companys period, If it's better, well then, I want to buy It!, this is the stupid audio nerversa disease we all have, really, I hope I do not have to buy all new cables, anyway, why did you repost my post, I did not put it here, what is your agenda?, I am not going to post my impressions here period!, I will post where you got my post from, what are you doing?
I agree with Ddraudt and TBg, I believe this thread is better to stay on topic, and focus on just that, nobody enjoys reading drama and accusations!, what about the people that have not been to this thread, I do not know about you, if I read some kind of drama on a thread, I stay out of it and do not post nothing even on topic on that thread, it's just not good for any one, it's meaningless!
I agree!, this is all of your gentlemens thread, however, the Tara labs cable thread is the peoples thread, all is welcome to talk about anything!, all of you here are welcome to talk about high-fidelity cables there as well, this is just a screen in my face, lets enjoy this hobby together, cheers gentlemen.
@ Leicachamp, I am in the habbit of giving respect to others when asked of me!, I do not know these folks, let them enjoy their thread, they can believe what ever they want to believe, concerning, to what's best available in cables, This is America!, some like general motors, some like Fords, tast is a perception that is ingraved to each individual!
Nice read Dave, I love when I read someone is enjoying audio, you have the same enthusiasm as I do!, I look forward to what you say when all is burned in, cheers.
Hi dave, what is the sound difference between the thermo breakers and the hydro breakers you have?, please give a review on how much they cost, the improvements for sound, The complete benefits of useing these kind of breakers, Thankyou in advance.
Thankyou Dave for your reply about the breakers, very imformative,I would love to listen to your system useing the mag/hydraulic breakers, It would be interesting to A/B the sound differences, You amaze me with all that you do that most audiophiles have never heard of doing, I admire you totally.
@ Leicachamp, Hi, Is Rick going to give you an exchange of all the cables you bought?, what kind of warranty does High-fidelity cables have?, The Brand I bought into has life time warranty, if any cable ever has issues like you are having years down the road, The brand I have will fix are replace the cable, NO excuses!, who cares why or how, If I were Rick, I would not want an un-happy customer, his reputation is at stake here for quality, at the cost of the ultimate referance model, this should be resolved with no questions or excuses period, good luck.
Please carry on, I wanted to say that Rick is a great guy to talk to, very helpfull, and a gentleman, thats all, I am not tring to hi-jack this thread, I enjoy the passion here, great to read, I like what Rick is doing with power cords, should be one of the best available, Happy listening gentleman.
@ Petieboy12003, yes, I did think you forgot to get back to me, to tell you the truth, I forgot myself,LOL!,118 db sensativity, wow! Thankyou for your reply, Happy Listening.
I forgot to add that Rick told me that there is a good bit of benefit between cryo treated and none treated, that the cryo treated was the way to go, He helped me with some decisions I am doing with modds to my digital player, Thankyou Rick!, cheers.
Today is the 29th, I just talked to Rick shultz on the phone for an hour!, what a real gentleman, we discussed everything other than just mere cables, like the real difference between balanced and single ended circuits, and resonance control, and how there really is no difference in sound between rhodium plated metal contacts and gold plated contacts, However, His ultimate referance with rhodium power cord has a completly new different dielectric and the conductors are in a helixed configuration that is the main reason of the difference in sound between the standard ultimate referance power cord and the Rhodium plus, very educational talking to Rick, cheers.
Thanks Dave, You may call me keith, I must say, after talking to Rick, I would really like to check out the power cords, since there is no issue with RCA and using Balanced that I need, Is the power cords the most revalutionary product?, you know, the Rhodium plus power cord over othe products He has?
Thankyou Dave for a very good reply, I enjoyed reading what you had to say, It made alot of sence to me, If you do take a power cord with you, let me know how the competition stacks up against the High-fidelity power cord, cheers.
calvinj, I sent you a E-Mail, I need you to read it and reply back to me, thanks calvin.
wow dave!, your room sounds impressive, a room that sounds great at a big exspense surely pays off.
Great Review Calvinj, It's all about the music, No matter what brand of cables that are used, I am happy that you got the exsperience of world class listening to audio now, you will never be the same, this happened to me, and I am sure a few others here,Even though my game changeing exsperience is with Tara Labs,,, LOL!, Now, are you going to buy this power cord?, your new found audio-nerversa should kick in right about NOW!, Ha, Ha, BUy the cord!, I know I am a bad influence, cheers calvin.
@ TBG, Ha!, Your not alone, I currently have a stock form digital player I am modding extensivley that cost $2,500.00 new before I go to work on it, and I got a pair of Tara Labs Zero gold with HFX grounding station $15,950.00 1-meter, and a $5,450.00 Tara Labs Cobalt power cord with Top Oyaide plug and IEC, As I add up what the both of us have done here, My wife says my cables are $21,400.00 worth of cables, your total on your $1,780.00 BMC Pure Dac for cables is $22,475.00, LOL!, you beat me by $1,075.00, you know if we tell to many others on this site this, they will both think we are CRAZY, I say crazy like a fox!, cheers.
TBG, A member of audiogon once told me, those who die with the most toys, WINS!, Enjoy the music.
