I was under the impression you already fixed the LX-5... It's a pretty sophisticated deck and old, 1981. Have you tried Naktalk like I mentioned on other Nak inquiries? naktalk@lists.naks.com, has a group of very knowledgeable Nak experts, Willy Herman is part of the group. I'm a decent tech, but I would not try to repair THAT deck myself. 1) Age & lack of parts. 2) Specialized test equipment required to service a deck of that caliber. Willy did my DR-2 a few years back. He has the equipment to do wow and flutter and so many other tests and calibrations. And a whole garage full of old Naks for parts. Old rubber is most likely the cause of your problems. Good luck.
Help with my nakamichi lx5...
So I have already posted about this, but I want to try again.
So, whenever I press play, record, the head/pinch roller unit raises up. But, after not even a second, a grunt sounding noise becomes audible for a sec, and the heads lower back down.
If you need any more info ask me. I really want to get this fixed by myself.
