Help with buzzing sound

Hello everyone. I recently noticed something very weird about my tube integrated amp. Past a certain volume level (about 12 o'clock; I usually listen with the volume control set at the 10:30 position), my speakers will start emitting a buzzing sound when I touch the volume control. The buzzing sound gets louder if I raise the volume and keep touching the volume control. But as soon as there are no contact between myself and the volume control the buzzing sound stops, no matter what the volume level. Since this buzzing sound only shows up with the volume control set past my usual listening level and when I touch the volume control, it has no bearing whatsoever on my amp's performance soundwise but I'm wondering if there might be something wrong with it. Any input would be apreciated.

Thanks Sean and Marakanetz for your input. What really puzzles me though is how come this buzzing sound only makes itself noticed when I physically touch the amp's volume control. As I said in my post, the buzzing sound completely disappears as soon as the physical contact between myself and the amp is severed.
