Help mounting SPU Royal N

I have just received a SPU Royal N and have a question regarding it's installation. The cartridge includes a metal spacer that install's between the cartridge and headshell, this spacer is wedge shaped so the cartridge ends up installed on a nose down angle. Is a SPU cartridge body to be installed parallel to the record surface because this spacer sets the body at least 3 degrees down at the front. I have never seen a standard non nude SPU so have no idea if this is normal. My arm is a FR64s and it seem's as though the arm needs to be dropped alot in the mount to get the cartridge parallel but then the arm itself is no where near parallel to the record which is my usuall reference. I'm not sure where to take my reference.
