Help from tube expert: rolling AudioResearch VS110

I willing be trying JJ Tesla KT88 in my AR VS 110 which originally came with EH 6550s. The reccomended bias was 6.5mA for the 6550. Should I bias the KT 88 at the same current? Are there other precautions I need to take?
