Whenever PS audio Does a firmware update on its DAC. There are reports that there is an increase in sound quality. I would think that blue sound could be capable of something similar. Just read, they were finishing a multi year project and this could be the culmination of that. Enjoy the new sound
Have you heard a improvement after installing BluOS version 4.10.11?
I stream mostly Quboz via a Bluesound Vault 2, which feeds a Berkeley Alpha DAC Reference 2. The rest of my system is described in my profile. I installed a recent operating system upgrade, BluOS 4.10.11, on the Vault a couple weeks ago. To my surprise, because the upgrades have never affected the sound before, I noticed an improvement in playback immediately. Sounds were bigger and more intense at the same time, a quality I associate with vinyl playback. The bass was stronger. The sound stage was deeper. That impression has stuck over the last couple weeks. Today, I asked my wife to listen- my ultimate test of my system. She noticed the improvement too.
Thrilled. Significantly better sound at no extra cost. Thank you, Bluesound.
Curious if others have had a similar experience?
Some but not all versions of the upgrade note from BlueOS lists “Core system refinements.” That suggests that maybe I am not just hearing things.
Any insights into what might be producing SQ improvement, if that’s present?
