Have some fun with bookshelf monitors!!

This is ANOTHER what speaker should I buy.  But here is the thing.  I might have a speaker problem......

I currently own the following speakers:  Dynaudio Evoke 50s (my main room) driven by Prima Luna, Watkins Gen 4 (secondary room) driven by Cary amp, Harbeth P3ESR (office) driven by retro Grant Fidelity tube amp, and Wharfedale Evo 4.2 (home theater) driven by an NAD AVR.  If you ask my wife that's about seven too many speakers.

BUT

I have a new large room, lots of glass, 10' ceilings, and have to use an NAD 3050 amplifier.  Speakers have to sit on a bookshelf, have a wood or white finish, and most importantly be interesting!

SO...

with a $5,000 top end (and goal to be half of that) tell me what you buy.

the Alta audio Alyssa should  be on your short list

the Alyssa is quite frankly playing at another league then most other book shelf loudspeakers

the Alyssa  goes to an unheard of  32hz! due to a custom built long throw six inch woofer and Alta’s patented hybrid transmission line/infinite baffle design

Longtime readers know that I rarely go gaga over anything I review, but I must admit the Alta Alyssa loudspeaker is something special. For many audiophiles it could well be the loudspeaker that enters their listening rooms and never leaves. It is simply that good.

the Alta’s also use an incredibly dead DampHard multi-layered, multi-density material, which gives you a zero resonance  cabinet.

The Alysa is way more efficient then the ps audio fr5 which is 83 db vs  the Altas 88db so the Alta can be easily driven with far less power including a tube amplifier!
