Haul to the curb?

I have become owner of a massive Vidikron Vision one. Luckily no one was injured in removing it from the ceiling. I need advice. Should I go through the hassle of trying to sell this outdated hunk of electronics or just edge it out to the curb and hope the recycling truck will haul if away?
