Yes, I own one. It is an excellent unit. It drove my Maggie 1.6 fine, but lacked bass. I then used with a subwoofer to handle the low bass signal, and it sounds great! I would also recommend you upgrade the preamp tubes. The 6550 power tubes can also be rolled for KT88 and EL34 but you will lose watts of power output, and get a less neutral sound. I am going to take mine a step further and replace the potentiometer with a TKD which should increase its transparency although I will lose the remote feature of the volume knob. The sound is more important to me than conveniece lazy man features. Is there better in the same price range???? I am sure it has competition these days. The Cayin gear sounds very good also. And the fit and finish of the Cayin gear may be better. I got a great deal on my Ref 880, so no complaints. But if buying new, I would have at least considered the Cayin and maybe a few others as well.
