Well it has been a while for me, but let me try, I had an ET5, which led to the ET6. I then had a GAT2 and I now have an ART. They all sound the same. That is to say, C-J has a house sound. Naturally as you go up the price ladder the sound improves in increments. Truthfully, though, I would rather listen to an ET6 than to any other brand of line stage regardless of price. The difference between an ET6 and an ET6SE is going to be slightly greater refinement in detail and resolution and the latter will be a bit quieter. Those same descriptions can be applied again to the ET7, then again to the GAT2 and to the ART. But the differences are not great. As I said, I could happily live with an ET6. How to describe C-J sound? Well they are easy to listen to. There is a fluidity and a smoothness to them. They are never strident, they are faithful to the music. The tonality of all instruments is faithfully reproduced. No emphasis and no reticence are discernable. Earlier models of the company's products tended toward a warmth that is no longer present. C-J has the musicality and the delineation necessary to reproduce the finest musical instruments. I hope that helps.
