Gryphon Diablo 300 as a basic amp
Any Diablo owners out there who have tried this, say to use the power section with a tube preamp?
The sound of Gryphon is very much like Class-A sound, big, lush and controlled.
I couldn’t see the need of a tube pre on them.
Maybe a passive could do wonders with it because the Diablo only needs 0.6v in for full 300w output, most sources today put out way over 2v, so there’s no need for any more gain from and active preamps.
