Certainly no intent to offend.
ghasley: Are you a Grandinote representative?
No, nor do I own their products.
Unless you are, the question was not directed at you.
Apologies, I just felt like the "welcome" being directed toward Grandinote from some of the posters, yours included, wasn't very welcoming.
I don’t know where you got your numbers. Average American Income | 25 U.S. Salary Statistics [2023] - Zippia
Pre-tax average income (preliminary estimates) for 2023 (not wages, pre-tax income which includes capital gains). As we likely agree, "average" doesn't tell the real story since Bill Gates and Warren Buffet can skew the averages. Median is a better indicator. I believe your data may also be for 2021 in spite of the year (2023) being listed in the heading...a reasonable and innocent oversight. The data I posted was from a recent report from JP Morgan Private Wealth Management. Obviously preliminary data but directionally correct.
BTW I fall in the top 1.5% (higher if you only county females), but thanks for the erroneous info.
Congratulations! Once you crack the top 1% you will likely not mention your income level again on an audio website. There are a large number of people who frequent this site who pay more in income tax. I am aware of one person who likely pays more in auto insurance annually.
I was being sarcastic with my original post...
Recognized it immediately, poorly disguised.
