Buy yourself a Japanese Direct Drive and you will NEVER regret it, your Technics will work for 30+ years without service for sure. It's like a Swiss watch.
Got to get a new TT...
Hello,
I need a new turntable. Max budget is around $2,500.
Currently have an old RP1, modded with Tango Spinner sub-platter, spindle, belt and with Elys2. Something happened to the arm, so that the shell holding the cartridge is not parallel to the plint or platter, and on the right side the body of the cartridge touches the vinyl. Could buy a RB220 tonearm from the UK , but I think it's time to upgrade.
So for my budget i have been considering:
Rega Planar 6 with Exacta
MoFI UltraDeck with Master Tracker
Technics SL1200GR with Hana EH or Ortofon 2M bronze
Right now I can't get to any vendor where i can compare different set-ups, so i am asking for your opinion if you have any experience with one or possibly more of the above options.
If that matters, the remaining components are Arcam Alpha 1, Cambridge Azure 840C (CD) and PSB Imagine Tower T2.
Thank you for your suggestions and your time,
Manlio
