I'm not sure how this would compare to the CD-77 since I've never heard it, but I use a 47 Labs Flatfish (coaxial only) Transport and like how it sounds. It is modded with a super clock and BG caps in the internal power supply. I use a custom battery power supply to power it. Very analog like with 0 digital etch and glare. I brought it to an audio "rave" (meet) yesterday and more than one guy stated the reference system sounded the best of the day with it, including some real tricked out USB servers!
