Gallo Nucleus Reference II

Hello everybody,
I recently removed my Gallos because I realized I needed to fix a small notch. Finally I found some of the original square head rivets. When my Gallos were out of service, I realized I had to use a pair of original Mirage Omnisats paired with the Omni S-10 sub In fact, would you think a pair of small speakers with a perfectly matched subwoofer are worth their money for a legendary pair of speakers like the Gallo Nucleus Reference II?
Thank you in advance

Hoping someone can help with the hookup.  We just received a pair for trade-in.  There are 2 posts and then 3 under that (in addition to the 2 on the woofer).  We have a filter as well.  What goes to what?

Maybe a picture would help!

Hey aheadstereo: I have a Pair of Gallo Nucleus Reference I (has the polypropelene balls instead of the spun aluminum ones). Currently in storage.

On my model, they can be wired either in parallel or series, and in each of those in either mono- or biwire configuration. Per the owner's manual, when wired in parallel, the speaker system impedance is 2 ohms, and the efficiency rating is 91 db. Hooked up in series, the impedance is 8 ohms, but the efficiency drops to 88 db. Either way, they are rated to handle up to 300 watts.

So the hookup depends on what your amp is. I will try to post some shots of the wiring scheme from the manual.

Obviously, for the 2 ohm parallel hook-up configuration, you need a SS amp with some high current capability, most tubes won't cut it. Also, the bass can tend towords the loose/flabby side, so an amp with a high damping factor would be a plus to show these off at their best.

I think the wiring should be the same for the Ref II model. You may want to write to Gallo Acoustics and double check. They may be able to help, they are still in business, although these speakers are from 1995 or so.

I just got my Gallos Nuc Ref II in from Norway, they sound great, but they need quite a bit power to come alive.
