Fullrange VS Bookshelf & line array
I've been building a 2CH system over the past year and the next upgrade is speakers. There are a bunch of great options of full range loudspeakers in my budget ($60k-$70k) but my question is: Given the cost of the upgrade is the same, Is it "better" to go with a set of full range speakers or bookshelf speakers with a subwoofer line array?
An example of a comparison would be:
- Von Schweikert VR.Thirty w/optional Woofer amp at about $60K
- T.A.D CE1 TX ($35k) & 6x REL Carbon Special ($27k) at about $62k
** This is just an example...I'm more interested in the conceptual question of fullrange vs bookshelf/sub array rather than these specific brands/models.
