Fried crossover or bad tweeter?

I have a pair of old B&W CDM 9NT speakers that I've loved for years.  
Lately the upper frequencies have started to break up on one speaker.  (I've swapped the speaker cables to the amp and even swapped the RCA inputs to make sure it was the speaker that was going badly)

How can I tell if a crossover is going bad, or if the tweeter is dying?

I am in luck - both replacement parts appear to be available.

I called B&W and was able to get a diagram of the speakers and some advice on how to remove the tweeters and took your suggestion.  
I swapped tweeter domes (remarkably easy once you know how to open the tweeter enclosure) and the problem remained the same.  

I just ordered a new mid-range crossover from B&W.  At $86 I think its a bargain to keep these speakers in use.  

Fingers crossed that the other crossovers don't go out soon!
