I second the Klipsch Heresy's and if you want more bass and still have a smaller profile, snatch up a pair of Kipsch Quartets which occasionally pop up for sale.

Forward soundstage speakers?
Any suggestions on a small floorstanding speaker that project the soundstage into the room vs. behind the speakers? I want something that puts images closer to the ears and would be good for low volume listening. I've tried many speakers and for some odd reason, no matter how much I spend, I can't reproduce the qualities of an old pair of polk ls50's.
