Forte 1.5 repair

For all Forte fans, I have a 1.5 that is cutting in and out. Is it worth it the have Vintage Amp ( Jon Soderberg ) repair and upgrade it, or look for something newer. I was thinking on using it with an Audio Research sp-9 MK III with a pair of Usher 6371's in a lining room system. Currently using a Peachtree Nova. Would upgraded Forte best it? Thanks.
