If they both please your ear negotiate for the best deal. Yes, get a sub because you can place it specifically for bass response, unlike your speakers.
Final Decision Advice - GoldenEar Triton 3+ vs. Revel F36
Hi! I was hoping for some advice or confirmation on my decision, without giving away where I am currently leaning, regarding picking for a 5.1 system, which will be for both audio (e.g., streaming, cd/sacd, turntable) AND HT. I am mostly weighing the decision around the fronts. I am trying to pull the trigger and make the final decision between deals on a pair of GoldenEar Technology Triton 3+ vs. Revel F36. The prices are somewhat similar. Which one would you go with? This is not going to be my primary system but a secondary for another common room. Also, I was thinking that, IF I chose the Triton 3+, that I would not need a sub for the rear. Do you think that would be fine or do you think a rear sub is actually needed when you have a pair of Triton 3+?
