Favorite 300B: Sophia vs KR

I was talking to Israel last week about trying other 300b and driver in the Franks. He has been evaluating the new Shunguag Pavane. He seems very impressed with this new 300b. I haven't heard it yet.

I've owned the KR's and found the sound wonderful.They made my system sound fantastic. The problem was that they are not reliable. One of mine failed with less than 100 hours on it. The manufacturer did not stand behind them, and wouldn't replace it claiming I was responsible!?You can check out the archives on this tube as my experience was not unique.
I have tried a number of 300b's. I had Sophia, TJ carbons plates and a few I seem to have forgotton. The best I have heard is the Shunguag Black Bottle (Treasures)that I have settled on. They sound as good if not better than the KR's, and are reliable. I must have 1500+ hours on them.
I do wish to hear NOS WE's one day.

He said he prefers these new 300bs to the tresures. Subtle of course, but that what it is in this area of audio, isn't it?
The 6EM7 is a special tube. I was asking if different brands would alter the sound of my amp.

I don't think many people would get me thinking about swapping out the BT from the Franks but your comments on the Takatsuki's have.
Quick question. Could you go back to the BT and be happy?
1450 is a lot more then the BT's. Right now I'm happy.
