Favorite 300B: Sophia vs KR

Which do you prefer; S.E.T. Princess 300B Carbon Plate or KR 300B WE Clone?

I've only experienced NOS 40's/50's WE so my expectations are pretty high. Which do you think captures the essence of the WE most closely? I'm trying to keep the cost down as much as possible so EAT is not an option, as much as I was blown away by their KT88. I considered current WE but they're not in production until Spring 2011.

Charles1dad- Thanks. The Psvane seems much more sane at $500
than the $1200 RP's. Anyone else know where to find some
good 6em7's?
Charles1Dad: I also have been living happily with BT's in my
Franks for awhile and am contemplating replacing/trying something
else. Have you heard the RP's, psvane 300b-t, or AVVT's yet.
BTW, where can I purchase the psvane and some 6em7
driver tubes? Anyone else with opinions?
Thanks, George.
I am also interested in the RP and Takatsuki comparison. Thanks
To a gracious headfi seller I have a pair of AVVT's and Psvane
300b-t coming in the mail today. Can't wait to hear how they compare
To my BT's.
While awaiting the main event results some might be interested in my
findings with the "lesser" Psvanes and AVVT 32b. Right out of the box the
Psvane 300b-t sounds a little more detailed than the BT's while retaining
very similar warmth and magical midrange. Overall I think it is a better tube
and only 15 hours on them. The AVVT's were shockingly lively, detailed
and very neutral. Not quite the lusciousness of the Psvanes. Probably will
be my go to for classic rock or shorter listening sessions. Can't wait for
these tubes to reach 200-300 hours. BTW, I will probably list the BT's with
700-800 hours on them. Also for those with the Coincident linestage, I
have 2 pairs of 101D's that I no longer need

Sorry, one more comment. I was told the 300b version of the Electra Fidelity
amp will be at T.H.E. Show in Newport beach in the room with Fritz speakers,
Resolution audio Cantata, and Wywires. You can contact Anthony Chipelo
(Clio09 on Gon) of Electra Fidelity for more info. Or if you are near Vegas
and want to hear my el 34 version shoot me a message.

Does anyone else have experience with the new Psvane WE replica?
I am trying to decide between those, the RP's, and the Takatsukis.
I use the same amp as Charles1dad so I am sure I would enjoy the
Takatsukis, but I am a sucker for luscious warm midrange which has
me interested in the WE replica. Not sure if the RP's would be too hifi
sounding for my taste. Right now I am using the Psvane 300b-t which I
love and the AVVT 32b-sl. The AVVT is great for rock but it is a little
lacking in midrange magic to my ears. Any opininons appreciated.

Thanks for the responses, makes me feel better about the RPs.
Spoke to Rachel at Grant Fidelity. She says in critical listening the
Psvane WEs are better than my Psvane 300b-t.
Maxmad, everyone that has seen those tubes are stunned by
the looks and build quality. Sadly I may be getting out of 300b tubes
and selling my beloved Franks. Yesterday I demo'd an el34 prototype
amp from Jack Elliano of Electra Print transformer fame. The
circuit was codesigned by Jack and Ralph Karsten. Mindblowingly
good, all the magic of the Franks with better bass, instrument separation,
clarity, with less distortion. Puts out 10 watts. I believe Ralph has one
configured for 300b, maybe he can chime in. Sorry to get off topic,
just wanted to share an Aha moment.
