I had the non se version and just left it on factory settings. To me I really didn't hear a lot of difference going to other modes. I now have the K-01XD se and have just left it on the settings from the factory. Each different setting would require a significant run in time.
Esoteric K-03XD SE Filter and Upsampling Setting Suggestions
I am very fortunate to have recently purchased an Esoteric K-03XD SE CD/SACD player. I am more of a set it and forget it type audiophile and find that optimal settings vary from disc to disc. The player sounds great on most settings, but I’d really appreciate an opinion on the PCM and DSD upsampling and filter settings one would choose if forced to settle on a set it and forget it setting. How about leaving it on PCM to DSD conversion which sounds excellent as well. I know EMM Labs finest players automatically upsample PCM to DSD. I appreciate your kind input and suggestions. I know tailoring the settings is fun for many audiophiles, just like rolling tubes (which I used to enjoy 20 rears ago), but now I find it a bit cumbersome. Thank you all.
