Equalizer in a Hi Fi system

Just curious to hear everyone’s opinions on using an equalizer in a high end hi fi system. Was at work tonight and killing time and came across a Schitt Loki max $1500 Equalizer with some very good reviews. What are some of the pros / Benefits and cons in using one. Just curious. BTW. I’m talking about a top of the line. Hi end equalizer. Mostly to calm some high frequencies and some bad recordings.

You probably got a bad unit...my LOKI Mini @ $149 is silent and does a great job cleaning up bad recordings...BUT  I'm picking up the MQ112 today...I LOVE EQ.

I actually am picking one up today @ 2pm. Can't wait to hook it up and have a wonderful EQ weekend. I'll report back with impressions.

Any piece of equipment that improves the music to YOUR EARS is a good piece....My system is $30 K and I use a LOKI MINI when I need to for certain recordings that need a little EXTRA something......EQ's don't improve your hi end system.....they improve the RECORDING that you are listening to....Thru your hi end system. Once audiophiles understand this fact.....it makes owning an EQ plausible.

I have the Loki...Love it....But I'm ordering the new McIntosh MQ 112...For 3K it's a winner.
