Energy Veritas 2.8.speaker best paired to which amp and preamp

Does anyone have experience with which amplifier and preamp combination would best pair with the Energy Veritas 2.8. speaker?

The speaker’s sensitivity is 86,5db, The recommended amplifier power is suggested to be between 80-400 watts RMS per channel and the max watts are 500 watts for instantaneous peaks with less than 10% clipping. The impedance is 4,6 ohms */- 1,3 ohms.

I was leaning toward the Classe CA-2300 over the Classe CA- 2200. It’s rated at 300 watts at 8 ohms and 600 Watts into 4 ohms as opposed to 200 watts at 8 ohms and 400 Watts into 4 ohms.

Would the extra 200 watts at 4 ohms be overkill for having the more headroom?

I purchased a pair of these new way back in the day.   I think they are great speakers.   Given enough power they can really energize a big room with life like sound!

I found they do like power and used a Classe CA-300.   This was a very good match power wise but maybe just a little warm as I found the big Veritas a tad on the warm/dark side with a chance of overpowering some rooms with a too much mid-bass.   The combo though was very refined and powerful.   I think a Bryston 4B3 would be a great match.   I owned a 4B3 well after I sold the Veritas but the Bryston impressed me with its bass control, and the 3 series is smooth and refined relative to its price point, in my estimation.

Enjoy the big Veritas!   They will always be a pair I remember owning very fondly.
