Emotiva XPA 5 Gen 1 or 2?

I recently purchased an Emotiva XPA 5 amp, it was marketed as a Gen 1. When I picked it up I noted it had black front panel side trims which are indicative of a Gen 2 unit. I sent the serial number to Emotiva seeking clarification but they responded saying they did not have any info based on serial numbers? Is there any way to differentiate between Gen 1 and Gen 2 units other than the trim pieces which are very easy to change? I know some Gen 2's are stenciled Gen 2 on the front but it has been suggested that was not included on the earlier Gen 2's? The unit is in excellent condition and works well, I would like to know the Gen for proper placement in my H/T system as the sensitivity is either 29 or 32 depending on which Gen it is? Thanks for any advice.
