Emotiva RMC-1 verus JBL Synthesis SDP-58

We are considering replacing a couple year old Audio Control Maestro X7 with either the Emotiva RMC-1  next version 2023 or the JBL Synthesis SDP-58.

Currently the JBL has a more robust Video card and WiFi and blu tooth connectivity, newer generation Sabre Dac's.  It is available now.

Emotiva is in the process of finalizing similar upgrades for 2023 and this is what we would wait for.

We use the processor to connect to a Parasound Halo A51 5 channel amp, new generation B&W 803 speakers, a REL 212SE subwoofer, B&W center channel and B&W rears, a Samsung 82" 8K TV, DISH network for regular TV,the Lumen for high-res music streaming and Apple TV and Amazon Prime for video streaming.  We do a fair amount of both.  The Audio Control is OK on video streaming and fair on analog stereo.

Any and all insight into the best replacement option for us is greatly appreciated.  Price differences of the options presented is not a significant consideration.

JBL had a lot of bugs in the previous model and I think the 58 benefitted from getting them fixed. I would not recommend waiting for a future release of Emotiva or any product due to all the uncertainty of timing and bugs. Since you B&W speakers (Sound United) I would recommend checking out the new (also Sound United). Sound United/Marantz is known for very stable processors and high quality.

Thanks, I sent the Audio Control back to the folks in WA for an issue and they made a few updates. Decided to stay with if for a while.
