Elrog 300B vs Takatsuki 300B tubes

Your posts on the Elrog has got me interested in them. Better than Takatsuki and EML is a very good thing. Have you tried old WE 300Bs? By old, I mean pre-1960?

Thanks for your feedback. Looks like I have to try the Elrogs. I do agree with your previous post that the reissue WE300B is not great. But I do have a few pairs of vintage WE300B with rectangular getter of 1950'd and early 1960's era. I also have 1970's era but these are not as nice. Bass and dynamics are the areas where the vintage WE300B loses out compared to Takat and EML. I haven't tried the Vintage WE300B wit my Berning SE OTL 300B amp. I should do so since the OTL amps have great bass since they do not have output transformers.

Where does one buy the Elrog 300B in the US? A couple of online dealers are saying they will not take anymore orders until the factory catches up with the demand.

I've just ordered a pair of Elrog 300B from George Lenz. Will post once I received them and get to try them. Thanks for suggesting George as a source for the Elrogs.

Ok, received my Elrog 300B tubes and just put them into my Berning 300B SET ZOTL amp. They replaced EML 300Bs. First impression ... WOW!. Much more layered presentation. Vocals a little further back but soundstage more spacious and deeper. Better separation of instruments and vocals. Seems a little more detailed. Sounds a little softer i.e less gain. Liking it very much. It's staying in the amp for now. Hope the tube will last long. 

I have Takatsuki, Sophia Princess, EML and Elrog 300B and EML300B XLS.
So far, only the EML300B has started failing on me (lower gain on one channel). But I don't run my 300B for long hours either.
