Dynaudio Emit 10 vs. Evoke 10

I’ve read the Evoke 20 is a step up from the Emit with a smoother response. Some reviewers have made this there go to bookshelf speakers. I have the first generation Emit 10 which I like because of the exposed driver fasteners vs. the later version w/ a trim piece covering them. It fills a small room w/ ease using SS and tube amps, but had trouble filling a large 18’x22’ space with a big sound. Your Emit 20 probably fills a large room does this better than my 10s.

Thanks Fillmoor, for you personal experiences. I’m still using my M10 and find they work exceptionally well in my 9’ x 12’ small spare room using a 40W tube amp or a 60W SS amp. When I had them in our 18’ x 22’ large living/dining area they didn’t have the capability to fill the room. So I’ve been using them with superb results in a small room. I'am still considering an upgrade but am satisfied for now.

Room is very small 9' x 13', and speakers are respectable 12" from wall so I'm sitting 6' away in midfield. Amp tubes are not stock. What I'm inquiring about is the difference between the two speakers if you've heard them to enlighten me. A plus would be if you know if it is just cabinet size and maybe x-over that is the change or drivers too. Thank you freedriver.

That is an option. I was trying to get feedback from owners before going to the trouble and possible return. It's there if I need it.

Thank freediver for that info. The bass has nice punch but could be a little deeper and tighter, and the bass is a little softer as compared to the highs. The midrange a little recessed with vocals. Generally they seem a bit closed in and boxy, but I’m nit picking a budget speaker. The previous generation Excite x14 seems comparable to the Emit 10 in size, looks and performance.

The special 40s do seem quite nice but $3500 is too much for me.
