Does other Audiogon members' opinion carry any weight for you ?

It's mostly entertainment, not education.

Of course there are a lot of knowledgeable people here and intelligent ones as well and the ones that are both add a lot of value.

I start to think that disdain and irreconcilable differences are the real glue here.

and sans upvote/downvote, not removing comments would be the only fair solution to free speech and a somewhat level playing field. Outrageous, wildly insulting comments remain on these threads forever while fact based comments have been deleted because they hurt someone's feelings - i.e. they are bothered by the truth. 

I do have a mental filter for some members who comment here daily and have gone on insane and revolting  tirades that insulted about 70% of the world population. I wonder if they would speak to their children or neighbors like that....
