DeVore O/96 Unboxing

I’m not a sushi freak. I like it but I’m not the connoisseur guy that sits at the counter and just lets the chef create what he wants to serve me.

Opening my speakers was quite a nervous reveal. I knew that hand curated, walnut finish baffles is a DeVore variable that just is what it is. I had to trust that the master chef had created a beautiful and delicious meal for me. He did. And my wife approves too. Whew.

Working on pic uploads…..

Interesting.  I’ve been compiling a list of possible end-game speakers to one day replace my Audio Note AN-Es.  High efficiency is a requirement, so Devores are an obvious possibility.  Did you listen to any other possibilities at Whetstone (e.g., Voxative)?

Mdalton: Give the Charney Maestro X with AER BD3 drivers a try.  I compared them to the AN-E’s and purchased them.  My amp is a 300B 8-9 watts.

@mdalton

I only auditioned less stellar speakers at Whetstone. I lived with the Voxativ AC-PiFe full range drivers in my PAPs for 18 months. They are great and my impression of Voxativ is very good. I met Ines Adler (Vox CEO) at an audio show and auditioned a few different pairs. Nice but they didn’t bowl me over. I think that the PAP open baffle just didn’t work in my situation.

It seems from my perspective that the Pure Audio Project open baffle speakers would need a larger space than you currently have.
