Denon TT cartridge/tonearm selection

Hey folks.  I have a Denon DP 59 L turntable in mint condition.  And have no idea what type of tonearm and cartridge might be good for bettering the piece.  High output or what and why?  Mm, mc, or what?  Why?  What tonearm selection and why?  Little help please n thanks...
